She recently looked after my 2 sheepdogs and 3 cats for a week, each with individual needs, and it was a delight to return home to find the house spotlessly clean and the animals calm and happy. I have just returned from a six week holiday in Switzerland. During this time, Lyn has been left in charge of our two dogs and farmhouse in Wales. I have discovered an absolute treasure in Lyn. I came home to be greeted by two happy, fit, groomed dogs and an absolutely immaculate house. I could see how attached the dogs had become to Lyn, simply by the sight of Pip (little traitor..) hopefully following Lyn to her car on her departure.  During our absence, Lyn proved to be reassuringly capable in coping with an old house with all its idiosyncrasies, and generally proving to be the sort of person who can turn their hand to anything. I should also like to add that Lyn is the sort of person who, of her own accord, will take on any jobs she thinks should be done. I came home to find my sitting room curtains washed and re-hemmed as pre-arranged and a neat pile of clean, ironed laundry. To sum up, I would describe Lyn as extremely personable, a true animal lover, wonderfully competent and totally trustworthy.

I first met Lyn through a work colleague approx 6 years ago as I needed someone to let my elderly Bichon Frisee, Fergus, out while I was at work - I was very happy with the arrangement we had and Lyn has become a reliable sensible firm friend who is down to earth and practical with a lovely manner and sense of humour. I wouldn't have a second thought in asking Lyn to help me out with anything be it cooking, gardening or looking after/walking our Border Terrier cross, Ben, who loves her to bits! No one could be a better House/pet sitter than Lyn, who has stayed at my place on numerous occasions. My dog Sophie always looked very happy and well and the house has been spotless on my return. I also have parrots which aren't the easiest of pets to care for and they were fine too. I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any house/pet sitting assignments as she is very capable.

Lyn Martin has been housekeeper here at Dunbeath Castle for 2 years since January 2010 and has been involved in not only the house but the Castle gardens too. She has been reliable, honest and a good timekeeper and along with the other house staff has kept the house immaculate as well as an alive and fun place to be. Her work in the gardens on summer afternoons has been exemplary and we shall miss both her and Archie (her charming border terrier). Lyn has decided that for personal reasons and her own mother's health deterioration that her place is in the South and we are both sorry to see her depart but wish her well in her new life. My wife and I are happy to recommend her to any future employer.
